LWOB is an annual charity fundraiser on behalf of the Prince’s Trust Scotland at Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh courtesy of owner James Thomson OBE and  raised a whopping £706,593!

The event was attended by a host of stars, including disco legends Sister Sledge, who doesn’t remember dancing to “we are family” and “lost in music” still sounded as good today and brought back some great memories from when I was a teenager at the local disco!

The Queen’s Garden Party

One day I’ll get a real job!

Those of you who are regulars to my blog will know how much I love my job, and this is one of the reasons why!

I was commissioned to cover The Queen’s Garden Party at The Palace of HolyroodHouse.

I’ve photographed the Royal Family on many an occasion over the years but this is my first garden party.

What a great day and not even a typical Scottish summers day dampened the occasion, everyone I spoke to and photographed were loving it, from the ladies of the woman’s institute to serving and ex members of our amazing armed forces.

My favorite pix 0f 2014

It’s been another great year, now in my 14th year as a freelance photographer…wow can’t believe where the time has gone!
Over the years I have been privileged to photograph some amazing things, meeting some great people and traveling to places I would never think of going to, all with there own individual challenges but I would not swap my job for anything else!
I have put together a few of my favorite images from 2014, I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them! They all tell a different story and mean so many different things to me.

Susan Boyle gets honorary degree…

Its Friday and and its been a busy old week.
With a few mixed shoots, from the usual corporate portraits, photocall and PR jobs.
Yesterday I was commissioned to photograph The Queen at the Place of Holyroodhouse today it was Susan Boyle getting a honorary doctorate for her contribution to the creative industries.

Susan with her honorary degree from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.

2012 Scottish Fashion Awards…

Scottish Fashion Awards in Glasgow always a good night and a chance to catch up with fellow photographers.
Also I was under orders from my daughter who is studying fashion at Uni not to come back empty handed!
Not as good as previous years, no goody bags, no press release with names and headshots of who was who as in previous years…and the promised wifi in the media room was not working. But did manage a Scottish Fashion Award T-shirt by Holly Fulton.

Scottish actress from CSI NY Louise Linton.

Jade Ewan from the Sugarbabes

Tali Lennox (daughter of Annie) who won Scottish Model Of The Year.

Not really much you can say about this young mans dress sense.

Scottish Fashion Photographer of the Year Jonathan Daniel Pryce gets some help cleaning his award.

A red carpet wouldn’t be a red carpet these days without some sort of reality TV star, tonight it was Millie MacIntosh from Made in Chelsea.

Scottish actress Karen Gillan who won Scottish Icon of the Year.

2012 St Andrews Links Trophy – Old Course St Andrews.

Congratulations to Daan Huizing who won the 2012 St Andrews Links Trophy with an incredible score of 23 under par, promptly announcing that he will be turning pro!

Very cold day at St Andrews, but worth it to see some terrific golf being played. Even had to have my gloves on…in June!

Fake Bake Glitz and Glamour Ball

After a few long weeks, I was looking forward to a quite night in on a Friday night, as I am working all weekend.
So this was my chance to kick back and enjoy a Friday night in for change!
But running your own business means there is no such thing as a Friday night off or a bank holiday for that matter!
Got a call from a client to cover the Fake Bake Glitz and Glamour Ball??
I should really learn how to say NO… As this is not my thing, Made in Chelsea? Amy who? What’s Towie and who or what is Gordie Shore…never mind Scousewives and seemingly there desperate!

Arriving was Peter Andre and Amy Childs…looks like she has been through Hilary Devey’s
wardrobe!

Pictured with Amy Childs is Michelle Heaton, don’t have a clue who she is… googled her and nothing! But seemingly she is famous. Well the Daily Mail used the picture…

Turned out not to be to bad a night, got to catch up with a few fellow photographers I have not seen for a while.

And it was all for a good cause in aid of the Save Your Skin campaign.
