Down in the Tube Station at Midnight

I literally was down in the Tube Station at Midnight…
(For all us Jam fans, the second single taken from the 1978 album All Mod Cons)
Commissioned to do some images of a walk round the Glasgow underground at midnight, why midnight because I had to wait until the last train had gone and the power was turned off so it was safe to walk on the lines.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, rats, water? But not one rat and surprisingly clean and dry!
Now for anyone who has ever travelled on the Clockwork Orange you will know it’s not that big (but it is the 3rd oldest in the world) so walking through the tunnels is strictly single file. I was very limited as to what camera equipment I could take, definitely no room for a tripod just a steady hand!

Glasgow from the air…

I was commissioned to photograph a few of the sites for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Its exactly 2 years to the day until the 2014 Commonwealth Games! And to mark the occasion diggers on the athletes village site were arranged in to a giant “2”.

I only had one hours flying time over Glasgow to get all the 2014 venues and the Athletes village site.
Below is the new venue being built at the SECC.

I was really happy with this image, I love the way the River Clyde cuts through the picture.
The 1901 built Kelvingrove Art Gallery looks just as good from the air as it does form the ground, as does the new Riverside Museum: Scotland’s Museum of Transport and Travel.
