Grand Central Hotel champagne bar gets a makeover.

The iconic Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow has given their champagne bar a bit of a makeover.

Nice wee job for a Friday morning with former Miss Scotland and TV presenter, Jennifer Reoch.

Love this iconic Champagne Bar with all it’s history and the old style décor mixed in with a blend of 21st century luxury.

Great shoot photographing the refurbished bar where the likes of Frank Sinatra and Fred Astaire enjoyed a wee tipple!

The Cloisters with an Iphone

I was passing Glasgow University yesterday and had a spare 15 mins to kill on the way to a job, and I love the Hunterian Museum but no time, so decided on a walk round the fabulous cloisters…again and a quick pic with my iphone!

Judy Murray shoot

Great shoot with Judy Murray, and for those of you who have been hiding in a cave for the last five years…mother of Andy and Jamie Murray you know the two Scottish guys taking over the tennis world!

It was the opening of a new 10 million pound David Lloyd fitness club in Newton Mearns, Glasgow, really nice place and if I lived closer I would join!

A day with Tom Daley

Spend a day recently photographing the very hard working Olympic diver Tom Daley.
Who was in Glasgow to promote the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, which he will be competing in.

Certainly got plenty of mileage from him!

Early start for a Sunday, 8am at the Finnieston Crane on Glasgow’s River Clyde where Tom was about to abseil off!
Right Tom up you go and abseil down, if I don’t get the pix I need, would you mind doing it all again…luckily for Tom I managed to get all the images in one take!

Next up it was over to The Old Fruitmarket where there was a good few hundred screaming teenagers waiting for him.
A lucky few who had won a competition got to meet him, and ask a few questions.

And not forgetting the obligatory if a celeb comes to Scotland make sure you get them in a kilt shot!

I had been pestering his PR all day about doing a shot under the Kingston Bridge, as she was from London she had no idea what I was ranting on about. There is a great mural under the bridge with a swimmer and diver so managed to persuade them to stop at the traffic lights for five minutes.
I got there half an hour before to set up on a traffic island (amazing how many people you know who drive past then text, was that you I passed looking like an idiot with lights, stands and camera, lurking under a bridge).
So glad it all worked out and I got a great image of Tom with the mural in the background, but only when the lights turned red!

Next it was over to the Daily Record building for Tom to do a spot of guest editing with the help of some local school children.

Last shot Tom was trying his hand at some bowls at The Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Centre which will host the Commonwealth Games 2014 Lawn Bowls competitions.

Exhausted but a very rewarding day!

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit to Glasgow

Some times you just have to love your job…
What a week, I had the rare occasion of taking a bank holiday off, had a great day out with the family.
Then it was back to work…one day I might just get a real job!
Had the great privilege of photographing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge or as there known in Scotland The Earl and Countess of Strathearn.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Glasgow to tour the Emirates Arena, specially built for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

They were both great to photograph, nothing to challenging on the technical front.
Just making sure I got some great shots for my client…and of course the Duchess smiling.

Prince William receives a gift from 7 year old Audrey Grevemberg.

And here’s one I did yesterday of Prince Charles sharing a joke with trainee chefs on the Prince’s Trust “get in to programme” at Dumfries House.

5 star eco self-catering

Finally the grey doom of the skies have lifted and the sun is out and the nights are getting longer…all good for photography!

So yesterday I was over in the far reaches of the west coast, just outside Kirkcolm shooting a magazine feature on a 5 star eco self-catering holiday house.

This place was fantastic, what a location the views out to sea were worth the three hour drive!

The only challenge here was to balance the light inside with the outside so you can see the fabulous views.

And the master bedroom…you would not want to get out of bed with that view.
