Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day is back!

Quick job today at the Scottish Parliament, where all the party leaders came together to support Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.

First Minister Humza Yousaf got in to the full swing of Christmas Jumper Day, donning a hat and jumper.

Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day…

get your Christmas jumpers looked out for Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.

Sports personality Judy Murray and celebrity chef Tom Kitchin donned their Christmas jumpers for the cause.

Ian Rankin in a phone box!

Quirky new tourist attraction in Edinburgh.

In my job you get to photograph lots of interesting things as well as some decently nice people, I’ve photographed Ian Rankin (him of Rebus fame) many time over the years and he’s one of the nicest chaps you could work with.

Great shoot for my client which made the front page of The Scotsman as well five other papers.

So on to “Gilbert” a refurbished phone box by bespoke tailors, Stewart Christie & Co on behalf of Save the Children…

What you do is you go in to Stewart Christie & Co ask for the key make a donation and then take a selfie in the phone box, kitted out as an old Victorian box with some lovely vintage touches.

All the donations got to Save the Children…have fun and contribute to a great charity all in one.

First Christmas picture of the year…

Funny old game…press photography.
I shot my first Christmas picture on one of the hottest days of the year, back in July!

Commissioned to shoot some celebrities for the 2013 Save the Children Christmas jumper day on the 13th of December.
Once the bad taste cast-off Christmas presents, you get to wear a Christmas jumper for the day and donate £1.

Back stage at this years T in the park I managed to photograph a few of the bands, I did get a few funny looks when I appeared with some woolly jumpers, but they all took it in there stride!

I managed to get 10 minutes with The Proclaimers, Charlie and Craig who I have photographed on many an occasion over the years were great sports and more than happy to add their support to the Save the Children jumper day appeal.

Decon Blue who wanted to keep the jumpers, must be an 80’s thing!

Enough Food For Everyone “IF” campaign

I was commissioned to cover the launch of a great cause today, (always nice to cover something worthwhile) The Enough Food For Everyone “IF” campaign brings together more than 100 organizations and was launched in Glasgow today.
This is a joint campaign with Save the Children, Oxfam and a host of other charities.

Enough food for everyone, IF.

With so many different charities involved with this campaign there was a lot of hanging around on a cold Glasgow street.
But after two patient hours it got started and Scottish actor Atta Yaqub (Ae Fond Kiss) was a pleasure to work with as usual.
My only concern at this time of year, is the light goes very quickly in the afternoon, but managed I to get a fantastic set of images for my client.
Enough food for everyone, IF.

Lets hope it raises lots of money and awareness for a great cause.

Colin & Justin – style guru’s ?

Then my next job with Glasgow’s self-proclaimed style guru’s Colin & Justin…but not today wearing those jumpers. As usual arrived early to scout out a good location for the shoot, then went off and bought a few Christmas props for the boys to wear.

This was in aid of Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, which takes place on Friday 14 December. Over 6,000 people from schools and workplaces across Scotland have already signed up to donate £1 to wear their winter woolies on the day for the charity.

Colin & Justin were true professionals and a pleasure to work with, the only problem I had was editing the images, just a shame I had to leave so many out.
